Have you ever faced a situation where you felt you were thinking of the right decision or an idea but did not take any action?
Oh God! Why didn’t I trust myself?
I should have gone with that feeling. I missed the chance.
OR,
Maybe, you feel something is off with someone, you are not getting a good feeling about them, and you don’t feel like signing the documents as you sense there is something going on in the background, but, you can’t seem to put a finger on it!
Well! That’s your intuition kicking in the right time, nudging you silently!
But, then you wonder…
How do I develop this feeling into a powerful tool or skill? How can I build my Intuition?
I’ll not make you wait anymore!
Let me tell you the 5 most basic ways you can develop your intuition, of course, you have to be consistent in your efforts to build it.
It will take time, and that time will be different for everyone. You should use your best powers and strengths to improve on the following steps to develop your intuition.
5 most basic ways you can develop your intuition
Be disciplined.
Right from being a child to late adulthood, one thing that can be developed diligently is discipline.
It is one of the most easily acquired, yet equally difficult skills to adhere to for a lifetime without enough practice for any human being.
It is quite evident that one needs to hold oneself, their well-being, their plans, their tasks in high regard to accomplish them successfully.
Life goals, study goals, and fitness goals are all broader terms for tasks such as adequate sleep, following the timetable, and not indulging in anything that will not lead you closer to your ultimate goal which could mean saying no to some people, some parties, some get together, you instead plan and put in work for research-study, exercises, meal preparation, relaxing time, doing some other productive work at an individual level.
Prioritizing certain tasks and goals in such a way that all our mundane activities are decided around them on a regular basis and for the long term is what is going to develop your disciplined mind.
The mind will start working on multiple jobs that you need to accomplish on the start-stop function.
This when continued for 5 minutes, one hour, half a day, a couple of days, weeks, months, or years will develop the mind to know what is correct and what is not.
You must be wondering, how that will help.
This discipline results in developing your intuition, we start getting energy from the feelings that feel good to us and negative energy from things that don’t feel good to us.
I have observed a lot of people who are good with their intuition also have a certain level of discipline in their lives.
But, the cheesy part is, that there are many people out there who are disciplined but do not exhibit any intuition of their own. Over years of experience and observing such cases I have rooted down to the following points that may keep anyone away from developing their intuition.
Align with your core values.
You and I have 86,400 seconds every day. Not less not more. Right?
Our brain has developed and evolved over thousands of years, we are the species on earth who can analyze and make decisions, and think multiple thoughts consciously and subconsciously on various matters and about things that make us happy as well as unhappy, and unsatisfied.
Every second we are constantly making some decisions (keeping aside a couple thousand seconds for the time we don’t make any decisions, think, or waste just like that).
This leaves us a great choice to live in the present, decide in the present for today and future, and decide to not think any more of our past failures, or pain.
Many things in our life are decided on our current requirements, and our future requirements, like goals related to jobs, studies, family, friends, relationships, finance, fitness, home, business, planning, travel, hobbies, things of interest, and way of living our life.
All these require, clarity of thought; clear discrimination between our thoughts and imposed thoughts from society, family, or friends; a clear set of goals in your mind; integrity and discipline to carry on; perseverance to achieve them; ability to try, taste and experience risk-failure-success equation (because no one is perfect and successful from birth); resilience to navigate through struggles and obstacles; knowing when to push through and when to stop.
I can keep on going … with substantially more traits.
Once we strengthen these core values where we know what is a burden and what it means to have free will, we can start aligning our decisions according to these core values which increases our strength of mind and soul.
Eventually, this pure clarity invokes our intuition at required instances. But, first, aligning to our core values is altogether a different hustle.
Have integrity in day-to-day activities.
I mentioned integrity earlier, do you know demonstrating integrity is a powerful trait?
Either to others or to self. The latter is more difficult than the former.
During difficult or happy situations, we all face a dilemma as to which is the correct path.
That’s where our integrity comes into the picture.
Integrity involves silencing the ego, having tremendous willpower to choose the right, being fearless, knowing to set boundaries when necessary with people and situations, following the truth and being truthful to yourself first, being honest, being humble, walking the talk, and being called a fierce person all the while.
The silent mind will always help you to find solutions in weird ways, sometimes beyond your comprehension.
The truth that is revealed in such circumstances is sometimes difficult to understand or accept.
But, acknowledging it without hesitation or feeling embarrassed will give you a healthy intuitive ability to know the solution.

Keep calm and quiet to observe
What do you do when you want to hear a whisper from your close ones?
What do you do when someone speaks to you in a low volume?
You seek more silence to hear them. Right?
The same applies to intuition, once you silence the inner turmoil of your mind, once you quiet the external forces like people steering your life in some other unwanted direction.
This will help you tremendously to know about the natural gut feeling that you are trying to listen to.
The quiet and calm mind will clear the chaos to reveal your true desires.
Oftentimes, when we are going through some painful experiences in life or situations, we tend to become confused or careless about how to face reality.
Take some deep breaths one after the other. Maybe, we just need to clear our minds and listen to our intuition.
Do yoga, meditation, exercises.
A happy mind and body will always lead to a happy life. Isn’t it?
But, how do you reach that blissful point where the body gets aligned to start receiving, processing, and producing positive thoughts?
It is no wonder that we all go through these stages in life continuously even if you show it to the outside world that you are just fine and happy with your extraordinary life.
For any person, who is experiencing mental fog, anxiety, pain, loss, depression, it becomes apparent that they are engulfed in a sea of thought one after the other.
No matter how long the time has passed.
Eventually, all our joints, muscles, breaths, nervous system, and digestive system reach the point where they no longer serve their healthy purpose for us to sustain a joyful, mindful, happy, and healthy life.
It blocks our intuitive abilities and decision-making skills. This is where mindful movement YOGA comes into the picture, to create space for calmness and relaxation to seep in.
There are proven yoga asanas that instil calmness and relax the tired mind and soul.
When we bend our bodies into these asanas combined with proper breathing, we see a gradual progression in our mental well-being.
Practice them enough times and you have the secret recipe for developing a healthy mind, body, and soul.
The gift that you receive is a developed intuition.
I hope these 5 Basic ways help you in developing your intuition.
Until then, take very good care of yourself!
